Ah! Genealogy fun

Didn’t get much done yesterday. Turns out I was sick. Who knew.  That nap refreshed me though and I am feeling much better. So I am trying to get back on schedule, just running one day late. But I did have some time to do my cemetery pages today.  I got two more pages online before the school called that my daughter was sick too. Oh NO!  Too close to the end of the school year to start getting sick.

But it was fun to get back into the summer time grove a little.  I missed my dead guys. LOL

Speaking of which, I lost a dear genealogy friend this week. She simply went to bed, and didn’t get up.  She was one of those genealogist that never met a family line she didn’t like. She would do lookups, drive to the cemetery and take pictures-despite her terrible fear of snakes.  And she loved to chatter.  The world is at a lost today because she’s gone, but Heaven’s dancing as she goes around meeting all those ancestors in person.  I talked to her daughter and we agreed that she was busy checking on each one, and giving them a piece of her mind for being so hard to research.  RIP-Mari Byers.  You will be greatly missed.

Losing family members are the hard part of genealogy, but finding that elusive ancestor is the fun part. Mari was big on helping people find that elusive ancestor.  My challenge today-help someone else find their elusive ancestor.  Or maybe find one of my own.
