1930 Census

Good researchers try to find their ancestors on every document that they would have been recorded on. This helps to build a picture of that ancestors full life. Today I started with the task of making sure each ancestor was found on the 1930 census. I have 187 ancestors I am trying to research in TN. I narrowed that number down by removing those born after 1930 and those who died before 1930 to about 27. And then I worked my way down the list, and have now found ALL my direct ancestors on the 1930 census. It’s very satisfying to say that. Next 1920…

  1. Good luck to you! It’s a difficult task, but what a great hobby genealogy can be. I think my favorite census is the 1900 because it lists the month and year of the person’s birth. Sure, it might not be completely accurate, depending on the census-taker, but it’s really informative and helpful.
